Workshop #1: Oil Painting for Explorers WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION: Using slides, discussion, and classroom work, this workshop is directed to the intermediate/advanced painter. Come prepared to experiment and explore. This workshop promises to help both studio and plein painters produce more exciting, engaging paintings. Day one: Will be spent exploring advanced color thinking ideas, observing the effects of saturated and neutral colors, examining color vibration and illusion, and learning to communicate visual intention through color. (This is NOT a color "mixing" class.) Day two: Will be spent examining your tendencies-- both those that make your work good and uniquely yours, as well as those habits that are holding you back. Thinking "outside the box," students will use their own, "so-so" paintings as resources to paint new, successful works of art. |
